During their home game against the Seattle Kraken, the Boston Bruins hosted their 2022 “Hockey Is for Everyone Night. HRC’s National Youth Ambassador Nicole Talbot sang the National Anthem. Gavin Ford, a 14-year-old sled hockey player, served as Kids Captain, and National Guard Staff Sgt. Merrill Wilson and Sgt. Amber Wilson, spouses since 2019 and currently stationed in Mass. as part of the state’s COVID-response unit, received the game’s “8-Spoked Salute.” During the warm up, Bruins players used rainbow tape on their sticks, which were auctioned off during the game to benefit Boston Pride Hockey, New England’s first LGBTQ+ hockey club. The Bruins beat the Kraken, 3-2.
