Thirty-eight years ago, the AIDS Memorial Quilt was created to commemorate those who had lost their lives to AIDS. Volunteers for the June and October 1988 Boston Arlington Church displays and the October 1989 Washington, DC, display on the National Ellipse gathered to reflect and reconnect with old friends, make new ones and explore how the extraordinary synergy of the past can galvanize and address the challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community today.
