Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) hosted its 28th Annual Lesbians & Friends LGBTQIA+ Dance, a Halloween Bash supporting breast cancer prevention. The event included a dance lesson led by Liz Nania of OUT to Dance and Sandy Bailey, and was supported by Club Café, which created a welcoming space for all. MBCC also honored E. Denise Simmons, longtime Cambridge mayor and the first openly lesbian African-American mayor, for her trailblazing leadership. Founded in 1991 by a group of lesbians focused on the preventable causes of breast cancer, funds raised from the Dance support MBCC’s environmental health education, outreach and advocacy work.
