EqualityMaine celebrated its 40th anniversary with an emotional and joyous gala. The evening featured powerful moments, including a moving performance by Grammy nominee Cidny Bullens and an inspiring speech championing trans rights from Executive Director Gia Drew. Highlights also included Dax Peters presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to his mentor, Richard Waitzkin. The event showcased queer joy with performances by the Maine Gay Men’s Chorus and a dance party led by “American Idol” alum Julia Gagnon.
