The goal of Newport Pride’s inaugural Benefit Gala was to show the community’s commitment to supporting and uplifting LGBTQ+ causes, and that it did! With over 180 guests, the atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration. Among the elected officials in attendance were Newport Mayor Xay Khamsyvoravong, State Senator Tiara Mack, and former US Congressman and current president and CEO of the Rhode Island Foundation David Cicilline. The gala serves as a crucial means to generate resources for Newport Pride to champion equality, education and advocacy. And attendees raised over 30 percent of the original goal!
