With the theme of “The Many Faces and Races of HIV/AIDS: The Collective Strength of Survival,” the Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast returned for its 33rd year, an event hosted by Fenway Health — the Bay State’s leading provider of prevention and wellness services for people living with and at-risk of HIV/AIDS — for LGBTQ+ people from communities of color to inform, affirm and empower all in the continuing HIV/AIDS crisis. Cecilia Chung, senior director of strategic projects and director of evaluation and strategic initiatives of Transgender Law Center, was keynote speaker and received the Bayard Rustin Award for Courage. Actress and activist Sheryl Lee Ralph was honored with the Belynda A. Dunn Award for Activism, and actor Colman Domingo, who plays Rustin in the upcoming Netflix film “Rustin,” with the Image Award.
