The nation’s oldest speakers bureau for the LGBTQ+ community celebrated their 50th with “SpeakOUT50: Honoring the Power of LGBTQ+ Stories.” The event featured videos with member and client testimonials and clips from SpeakOUT TV, a cable access show produced by SpeakOUT from 1994 to 2007. Honorees were Michael Bobbitt, executive director of the Mass. Cultural Council, for challenging the arts administration field to build anti-racist practices, and Warren Blumenfeld for his work in the ’70s and ’80s establishing SpeakOUT’s training and speaking programs.
