Fenway Health hosted the 24th Annual Audre Lorde Cancer Awareness Brunch, a gathering for BIPOC, QTPoC, nonbinary and gender fluid, and all LGBTQIA+ folks to share, network and rediscover their resilience and strength. Qwin Mbabazi, GLAD’s senior manager of organizational culture and community partnerships, received the Trailblazer Award, and Sister Noel & Crew got the whole room on their feet with fantastic African music and dance. Started in 1999, the brunch is named in memory of Audre Lorde, a self-described “Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet” who battled cancer for 14 years.
