Joanie’s Place—partnering with the Balanced Learning Center, Family Service Association and United Way of Greater Fall River—hosted an inclusive prom for LGBTQ+ students and their friends. The event included a DJ, drag performances, a sensory space and snacks. Free to all attendees, the Be You Prom was inspired by the partnering agencies’ joint mission to support the LGBTQ+ community in Fall River. All involved in this initiative are committed to fostering safe spaces that affirm and celebrate LGBTQ+ identities.
