Nearly 100 volunteers showed up to help Community Servings deliver 6,500 medically tailored meals—plus hundreds of delicious Thanksgiving dinners—to individuals living with critical and chronic illness in Greater Boston. Each weekly meal bag going to 645 clients contained scratch-made entrees, lunches and other nutritional food tailored to support their medical and dietary needs. For the holiday, staff cooked up Thanksgiving staples for extra meals of roast turkey or tofu with gravy, cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato or cauliflower mash, cranberry sauce and for dessert, pumpkin custard with cinnamon roasted pepitas.
