The first staff members at Boston-based Fenway Health, one of the country’s leading care and research centers for LGBTQIA+ people, received their initial doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in late December. Four staff members across Fenway Health volunteered to be the initial staff vaccinated—Fenway Institute Clinical Trials Support Coordinator Janet Dargon, Medical Assistant at Fenway South End John Hortareas, Public Health Bilingual Health Navigator Angel Fuentes and COVID Testing Tent Lead and Medical Nurse Practitioner Lauren Wasley. As of mid-February, about 560 Fenway staff members had received both their first and second doses of the vaccine. Those 560 people represent staff from across all departments and levels of the organization.
