A VIP-studded event celebrated Boston Community Capital’s (BCC) 30th Anniversary. BCC is a city institution, having begun in 1985 by a group of individuals from Old South Church with $3,500 in start-up funds. Since then it’s invested more than $1 billion to create housing, jobs, and opportunities for low-income individuals. As a result of BCC’s programs, more than 500 Massachusetts families at risk of being foreclosed upon are able to remain in their homes, more than 15,000 students and youth receive crucial funding for schools, and more that 17,000 fiscally-sustainable solar panel have been installed.
