On Tuesday, November 22, the Boston Living Center held its annual Celebration of Life dinner for members and their families, serving 700 guests a delicious hot meal in a beautiful setting thanks to hundreds of volunteers and supporters. Special acknowledgment should be made to Mistress of Ceremonies Liz Walker, guest speaker Mayor Thomas Menino, the Boston Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and the Legendary Hat Sisters. Entertainment was provided by the energetic Lakia Mondale and the One Love Project. The Peter Daniel Clark Award was presented to Shirley Royster, an HIV/AIDS activist who has committed her adult life to speaking on behalf of those not able to speak for themselves. Over $100,000 was raised at the event in part due to pledges gathered by each of the serving volunteers.
