Every year, Boston Business Journal honors individuals and regionally based businesses “in acknowledgement of their longstanding commitments to Greater Boston’s LGBT community as manifested in the areas of mission, innovation, impact and sustainability.”

This year, BBJ is honoring four companies — financial services institution Berkshire Bank, utilities giant National Grid, global law firm Ropes & Gray and global healthcare company Sanofi — with their Corporate Ally Award. And BBJ’s LGBT Trailblazer Awards will go to Elyse Cherry, CEO of BlueHub Capital and board member at Wellesley College, Forsyth Institute and Boston Foundation; and Philip Nardone, founder, president and CEO of Pan Communications and board member of PR Council and Syracuse University Newhouse School of Communications.

“We are excited to celebrate Greater Boston’s trailblazers and corporate allies in the Business of Pride program, now in its seventh year,” Carolyn M. Jones, BBJ market president and publisher, said in a BBJ statement. “Congratulations to this year’s award winners, and a special thanks to the local businesses that support their work.”

The awards will be presented at BBJ’s seventh annual Business of Pride event on May 31 at Boston Chops in Boston’s South End.
