Before COVID came along, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus holiday show was one of those events that the holiday calendar revolved around. Although virtual concerts can do the trick when necessary, there’s nothing like gathering together to hear the boys do their best (and sometimes, brassiest!) renditions of classic Christmas carols, contemporary holiday hits, and pop- and Broadway-inspired curveballs.
So what a gift it is to gather for “Joyful & Triumphant & Gay,” the chorus’s first live holiday show since 2019. Silent nights, begone!
Showtimes start with a special matinee at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec, 4, at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.
Then the Chorus is back on stage at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall in Boston, at 8 p.m. on Fridays, Dec. 9 and 16; on Saturday, Dec. 17; and on Sunday, Dec. 18.
