Boston Business Journal’s 2021 Corporate Ally Awards go to Biogen and John Hancock “for their longstanding commitments to Greater Boston’s LGBT community.” And receiving the Journal’s LGBT Trailblazer Awards are Josiane Martinez, CEO and founder of Archipelago Strategies Group, and Richard Clark, chief accounting officers and corporate controller at Accenture Boston.

The awards will be presented at the Journal’s annual Business of Pride event, held virtually on Thursday, June 3. (Registration on the Journal’s event page.)

Reports the Journal:

Both Biogen and John Hancock were among the Massachusetts firms that earned a perfect score on this year’s Corporate Equality Index published by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Individually, both companies have made significant strides in their longstanding support of the LGBTQ community.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion are more important than ever in the current environment,” Carolyn M. Jones, market president and publisher of the Boston Business Journal, said, “and we want to recognize the people doing the work in bringing about the business climates we hope for all workplaces.”
