In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rhode Island Pride has initiated a collection drive to help community members in need.
Rhode Island Pride board members and volunteers are gathering donations of food, toiletries and cleaning supplies, which community members will deliver to others in need. They are also accepting money donations for volunteers to shop for requested supplies.
And they’re doing it all through a Rhode Island Pride webpage, where folks can easily donate or request donations.
Here’s the scoop:
If you wish to make a donation and not request anything, you can click next without completing the “donation request information” section. If you are requesting a donation and don’t plan to make a donation at this time you can skip past the “making a donation” section and click submit. To donate funds so we can purchase food and supplies for folx that need it please go [to this designated Rhode Island Pride webpage.]
Rhode Island Pride will take every precaution to prevent human to human contact, wearing gloves when handling donations and encouraging all practices recommended by the CDC and Rhode Island Department of Health.
It’s important for us to help those in our community impacted by this pandemic, whether they became ill or are facing financial hardship from a lack of work due to the virus. Its also very important that you take care of yourself. Please follow all prescribed precautions outlined by the CDC and Rhode Island Department of Health.
