Here’s some good news for the homebound looking for an alternative to streaming movies, TV or podcast–binging. Lambda Literary, the premier LGBTQ literary organization in the US, has just announced the finalists for its 32nd annual Lambda Literary Awards (a.k.a. the “Lammys”).

(And a special shout-out to Northampton, Massachusetts resident Ocean Vuong, whose “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” (2019, Penguin Press) is nominated for Best Gay Fiction!)

This means dozens and dozens of great LGBTQ titles in 24 categories from gay romance, to lesbian mysteries, to transgender nonfiction, to bisexual poetry and much more, including just about every variation under the rainbow. And they’re all really good reads—selected by “over 60 judges, literary professionals who spent countless hours considering a record-breaking number of submissions,” according to Lambda’s press release today.

“The Lammys are a testament to the LGBTQ community’s longstanding contribution to literature,” said Sue Landers, executive director of Lambda Literary. “The awards celebrate authentic LGBTQ storytelling in all of its beauty, complexity, and power.”

The judges’ top picks are to be announced at the awards ceremony, scheduled for June 8. But here now—just in time for the COVID-19 self-quarantined—is the complete list of the judges’ selections:
