Glossier’s new pop-up shop in Boston’s Seaport district will donate proceeds to fund a “year’s worth of Family Dinners” program put on by the Boston Alliance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Youth (BAGLY), according to an August 7 WBUR report.
Every third Wednesday of the month, BAGLY offers a free dinner and community-building event that includes not only great food but discussions and games. For more on Family Dinner plus all the activities and programs BAGLY has to offer, visit BAGLY.org.
Glossier, the make-up and skincare brand popular among Instagram-posting Millennials, will keep its 85 Northern Avenue Seaport district pop-up open through October 4.
According to WBUR:
The shop, which takes up all of the space of The Current, a retail space designed for temporary stores, is outfitted in so-called “millennial pink,” as are the store employees.
All of the company’s products are available at the pop-up shop, said a spokesperson for Glossier. Unlike the online store, the “offline experiences…are designed to be a pinnacle of engagement for our community and an immersive embodiment of Glossier in real life.”
The layout and interiors of the shops — products are segmented into several “houses” — are perfect for posting to social media. The company prides itself on its large social media following, saying it has 2.2 million followers on Instagram.
Boston is the company’s third pop-up location to open in 2019; previously the company had temporary stores in Miami and Seattle, which have since closed. A statement from Glossier said they will be donating to BAGLY, the Boston Alliance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Youth. The company will fund a year’s worth of BAGLY’s Family Dinners.
