The first-ever LGBTQ+ 5K in Massachusetts is about to take place this Halloween, Sunday, Oct. 31, starting at 3 p.m. on the Boston Common. The “Road of Rainbows” race is organized by Boston Theater Company and is welcoming to all genders, ages and physical abilities. Costumes are encouraged.
Tickets, $50 for in-person participation ($20 for students and/or subsizided) and $20 virtual, include a pre-race concert, an after party at the Moxy Hotel and one free mystryde class (valued at $29). Registration ends at noon on race day. To register and for more, go to the event webpage.
“This will be one of the only races where you don’t have to check off if you’re male or female, said race organizer and BTC producing artistic director Joey Frangieh told the Boston Globe. “A lot of queer people don’t identify with the binary.”
