With the November 3 midterm elections just around the corner, Congressman Chris Pappas welcomed former United States Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to New Hampshire, where he campaigned for Pappas’s run for US Senate in a 48-hour swing across the Granite State.
Pappas and Buttigieg joined fired-up supporters and volunteers in Manchester, Rochester, Hooksett and Concord, making stops with Democratic candidates and local leaders and rallying voters ahead of Election Day. From a packed rally at the Rochester Opera House to canvassing with the New Hampshire AFL-CIO in Concord, Buttigieg emphasized the importance of sending Pappas to the US Senate to stand up to a reckless president, take on corruption, and deliver for Granite Staters.
“We’ve got to make sure that Chris wins his race for the US Senate,” Buttigieg said in his endorsement of Pappas.
“His opponent, John Sununu, who is hand-picked by Donald Trump, is already showing he’s going to stand up for Wall Street, big pharma, big oil, pretty much the opposite of Chris Pappas, who is standing up for families, for making sure health care is more affordable, for small business, everything that people need out of their US Senator. I’m excited to be in his corner. I hope you’ll consider getting involved too,” Buttigieg said.
In New Hampshire, Buttigieg also joined Pappas and Congressional candidate Stefany Shaheen in Manchester, held a rally that also included gubernatorial nominee Cinde Warmington in Rochester, and headlined a New Hampshire Democratic Party fundraiser in Concord, according to the Boston Globe.
If Pappas wins in November, he would become the first openly gay man elected to the US Senate. He is the first openly gay person elected to Congress from New Hampshire.
