Every single person has the ability to plant a seed of hope. Just look at Allan Millora, a professional photographer in Rhode Island as well as the membership and events manager at Blithewold Manor, a historic estate on Narragansett Bay. In 2024, Millora launched the Hope Gala to show support and raise funds for LGBTQ organizations in the Ocean State. This year, the elegant evening of dinner and dancing will benefit Haus of Codec, which provides emergency housing and other essential services for queer youth. As importantly, though, Millora’s initiative in creating a new tradition like this is an inspiring reminder that we all have the power to take matters into our own hands, be the change we wish to see and give others a reason to hope.
