Boston Pride For The People parade, 2024

With the resounding theme, “Here to Stay,” Boston’s LGBTQ+ Pride parade and festival—put on by Boston Pride for the People—kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Copley Square. The parade then makes its way through the South End and Back Bay, and culminates at Boston Common for an all-ages concert and festival. A 21+ block party will also take place in the afternoon on City Hall Plaza. The event draws hundreds of thousands into the city for a day of joy, celebration and, especially this year, resistance.

“Boston has a historic legacy of advancing equity and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. I’m grateful to Boston Pride for The People for their critical work to ensure that we are creating space for joy and inclusivity throughout the year. I look forward to welcoming people from all across the region and country to Boston this June,” says Boston Mayor Michelle Wu

Boston Pride For The People is a volunteer-led organization that plans activities and events that celebrate the rich diversity, culture, and intersectionality of the LGBTQ+ community.

“The purpose of the Boston Pride For The People Parade is to commemorate the brave LGBTQ+ people who risked their safety to advocate for the lives and humanity of LGBTQ+ people, to celebrate the richness and complexity of LGBTQ+ community, and to continue to advocate for equity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people, especially those who face intersecting forms of oppression,” states the group’s mission. “The BP4TP Parade is a sacred space for LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies. The BP4TP Parade is a community-centered, non-commercial space.”
