The Indigo Girls are having a moment. The iconic lesbian folk-rock duo have never disappeared (their last studio album, “Look Long,” is only a few years old), but the pitch-perfect inclusion of their signature 1989 song “Closer to Fine” in the blockbuster “Barbie” movie has introduced them to a whole new generation—and reminded the rest of us why we love them. They’re also the subject of a 2023 documentary, “It’s Only Life After All,” which earned raves coming out of the Sundance Film Festival. In other words, it’s just the right time to rediscover the Girls and their unabashedly earnest feminist wisdom—complemented, for this show, by music from one of New England’s largest orchestras.
