The third annual Trans Resistance March and Festival, organized by Trans Resistance MA, starts 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25.
The march steps off from Cedar Square Park and heads down to Franklin Park Playstead for the festival, which includes performances on the main stage, speakers, food trucks, free water, local vendor and resource tables, both quiet and loud sensory areas, a youth section, bathroom facilities and more. For accessibility needs or questions, email accessibility@transresistancema.com.
Performers include Peppermint, ILOVEMAKONNEN, Oompa, Destiny, House of Miyake, Mugler, Teasha Boo, Porsha Olayiwola, Golden, Candace Persuasion and more.
The event is free and welcoming to all. You can also help out by making a donation, as explained on the organzation’s Instagram page:
Trans Resistance MA is also entirely volunteer-run. None of our board members or volunteers are paid, and almost all of us work to plan events and support communities outside of our daily jobs and taking care of our families, communities, and lovers.
Still, it’s crucial to us to put on a joyful, accessible, and safe event, and to hire and fairly compensate TQBIPOC artists and performers.
We’re making progress towards our goal of $80k to pay for the event, but we need your support to get there! If you’re able to–especially if you’re white and have access to generational wealth–consider the value that pride and Trans Resistance MA in particular has had for you and consider donating in kind. We promise to provide the pride event of the season in return!
