Massachusetts gubernatorial hopeful Danielle Allen reached out to the LGBTQ community this week with a video posting on her Facebook page asking for thoughts on how to improve health care for LGBTQ people.
“We’ve got gaps to fill in LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare, and as governor, I’ll partner with advocates & build off of their leadership to fill those gaps. What’s the first thing you want your governor to do on this issue? Drop a comment and let us know,” she said on her Facebook page.
A professor at Harvard where she also directs the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, Allen announced her campaign for governor last summer. She currently faces state Senator Sonia Chang-Díaz and the Bay Statte’s openly LGBTQ Attorney General Maura Healey as fellow Democratic candidates in the upcoming Democratic primary.
