Canton, Mass.–based Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation is distributing six grants to community nonprofits committed to helping LGBTQ+ youth across the US. One of the Dunkin’ grant recipients is Fenway Health, the Boston-based leader in care and research for LGBTQIA+ people.
Along with Fenway, the grants, totaling $30,000, go to Ali Forney Center in NYC, Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco, Lost-n-Found in Atlanta, Youth 360 Services in Chicago and Zebra Coalition in Orlando, Fla.
Says Dunkin’ in a Nov. 15 press release:
“The funding for the grants comes in part from Dunkin’s Pride gift card promotion which took place in June. For every Pride-themed e-gift card purchased between June 1 and June 30, we donated $1 to our Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation to benefit hunger relief efforts at six LBGTQ+ youth organizations.
“INspire, the LGBTQ & Allies Employee Resource Group for Dunkin’ corporate employees, helped the Foundation select the six LGBTQ+ youth organizations in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago and Orlando. The grants will help fund food programs for LGBTQ+ youth facing hunger including the distribution of grocery gift cards, hot meals and snacks.
“From fighting homelessness and hunger to providing mental health support, education and more, these organizations are vital to the communities they serve, and the Foundation is proud to support their hunger relief work.”
