This first film announced for the 34th Connecticut LGBTQ Film Festival is No Ordinary Man, a riveting-sounding documentary about Billy Tipton, a midcentury jazz musician who was outed as trans (and subsequently mistreated by the media) after his death. Well, this is no ordinary year, either—and that’s why the festival will offer many of the 70-plus films on deck for virtual and live screenings at Trinity College’s Cinestudio. Plus everyone will have more time to take in the flicks, because this year the festival is expanding from a nine- to 10-day affair. Extraordinary!
