Though theater companies across New England are still waiting to bring back live audiences, Boston’s beloved SpeakEasy Stage Company is pushing ahead with its spring lineup—and its approach ensures that everyone will enjoy a front-row seat from their living room. SpeakEasy will professionally film three different productions for ticketholders to stream at home, and the triad kicks off with “The Pink Unicorn,” a solo piece about a Christian widow whose life is turned upside down when her child comes out as genderqueer. Though the god-fearing locals in her conservative Texas town don’t take well to this, “The Pink Unicorn” uses humor and heart to trace one mother’s instructive journey from shock to awesome ally.
