Safe Homes is celebrating their 25th anniversary Gala and People of Courage Awards virtually this year. And they’re doing it with an exciting and inspiring evening honoring the achievements of some remarkable people, and of course raising money for their important services . Every year, Safe Homes provides hundreds of vulnerable LGBTQIA+ youth in Central Massachusetts with a safe space to access information and counseling, find supportive peers and adults, and participate in leadership development activities. This year’s People of Courage Awards go to Sharon McQueen (Public Service Award), Adam Stone (Young Adult Award), Unum Group (Corporate Award), Dr. Angela Sheble (Educator and Influencers Award), and Redemption Rock Brewery Co. (Social Justice Advocacy and Action Award. Plus the Safe Home Partnership Awards go to Zia, Ginkgo Bioworks and Worcester Together, a partnership of United Way of Central Mass. and Greater Worcester Community Foundation.
