Don your best black tie (or satin pajamas!) and settle in with your screen to celebrate Boston’s own Fenway Health at their 50th anniversary virtual gala. While COVID-19 precludes gathering for the Men’s Event or Dinner Party again this year, Fenway is delighted to assemble virtually with supporters, patients and staff — and celebrate with special remarks for our community from Dr. Anthony Fauci, who himself has served American public health for 50-plus years!
As the long-time chief of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Immunoregulation Lab, Dr. Fauci is one of the world’s most-cited biomedical scientists. He was one of the principal architects of PEPFAR (the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief), and is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the National Medal of Science, among his many accomplishments and awards.
Along with Dr. Fauci, there’ll be the fabulous, Emmy-winning Nina West hosting performances by talent that’s local and global, including Neo Gcabo from South Africa and Mel Fine from Boston, plus Fenway’s own talented staff, The FCords. And you can bid on stellar art and experiences at Fenway’s online auction.
And while we can’t dance the night away in the ballroom together this year, the fabulous DJ Mocha has created a Spotify playlist you can use to turn your house in a party.
Virtual doors open at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28. Remarks start at 6 p.m., and the virtual auction begins at 7 and runs right until midnight.
