On National Coming Out Day, LGBTQ community leaders joined US Sen. Ed Markey at a press conference in front of the John Adams Courthouse. The event took place three weeks before the Presidential election and during the contentious debate over President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett. All spoke of these risks to the LGBTQ community, reiterating their commitment regardless of the outcomes. “It has never been more important for us all to speak up, to fight together for equitable and just systems, to build our collective resilience and to retain our hope and belief in a better world,” said Fenway Health CEO Ellen LaPointe.
