Actress, comedian and longtime environmentalist Lily Tomlin will light up the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s virtual LGBTQ+ Dance: Party for Prevention on Saturday, October 24, from 7 to 9 p.m.
At this year’s annual event, now in its 23rd years, Tomlin will also receive the MBCC’s Environmental Activist Award.
“We are constantly inspired by trailblazers, like Ms. Tomlin, who have fearlessly and relentlessly paved the way of putting the greater good of our planet and families first,” said MBCC Executive Director Cheryl Osimo.
“Including her in MBCC’s history of individuals dedicated to making a positive impact in the world is thrilling news,” said Osimo. “Lily Tomlin will go down in history as one of the greatest activists, if not the greatest activist, of all time in helping us make the world a better place for all who live on this earth.”
Highlights of the evening also include music by DJ Shelly Cullen, guest comedian Karen Williams and dance lessons with OUT to Dance’s Liz Nania—plus an online auction that’s open October 17–24.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale to adults at $15, $30 or $45; students $10, at mbcc.org. All proceeds benefit breast cancer prevention.
Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition is the state’s leading breast cancer organization dedicated to preventing the environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy and changes to public policy.
