For their annual HistoryMakers Awards, The History Project has risen to the challenges of 2020 and not only taken their celebration virtual but extended it to a month-long series throughout October with free, intimate online conversations with their HistoryMaker and Lavendar Rhino Awardees.
Each year, these awards are presented to recognize community members and organizations in Boston’ LGBTQ community who are making history every day; with 2020’s online conversations, we’ll get to know them even better than at previous years’ in-person celebrations.
Here’s the line-up (click here for more and to reserve your seat):
October 1, 7 p.m. — 2020 Lavender Rhino Honorees Chastity Bowick, executive director of the Transgender Emergency Fund of Massachusetts, and the Transgender Emergency Fund of Massachusetts, the only organization dedicated to supporting low income and homeless Transgender individuals in Massachusetts.
October 8, 7 p.m. — 2020 HistoryMaker Awardee Nancy Nangeroni, trans community advocate — from creating GenderTalk Radio and GenderVision, to organizing the Transgender Day of Remembrance, to her service as chair of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition.
