Boston Spirit magazine, New England’s Premier LGBT magazine, is launching a new, weekly, social media-based broadcast called “LGBT in Three,” hosted by Randy Price. The first webcast goes online today, July 10.
“LGBT in Three” is a New England-centric, LGBT-themed newscast that will air every Friday morning on the magazine’s various social media outlets as well as Boston Spirit magazine’s website. The broadcast will be anchored by New England news legend, and LGBT icon, Randy Price. Price recently retired from a long and outstanding career as a Boston news anchor.
According to David Zimmerman, publisher of Boston Spirit, Price was the perfect match for this project.
“Randy is such a legend within the New England news industry and in the New England LGBT community. Combining these two essential parts of Randy’s life make this the ultimate match,” said Zimmerman.
“In the course of our audience research we discovered that approximately 1.5 million people in New England are actively involved following LGBT issues through their social media accounts. My guess is that most, if not all, of these people know Randy through his work in Boston news or through his work in the LGBT community. Of that group I would also assume that almost all respect and enjoy his work,” Zimmerman said.
“LGBT in Three” will air every Friday morning as a three-minute video recap of the past week’s LGBT news affecting the community in the six New England states. Topics will include political issues and legislation, news from the business world, the non-profit world, and more.
Said Zimmerman, “We are extremely excited about this new project. Over the years we have connected incredibly well with our audience through both Boston Spirit magazine and our event series. This next step looks to build on those connections and bring our followers a new, fun and unique way to keep up on all the news that is happening within their community. Having that news delivered by someone as professional and respected as Randy Price just adds to that excitement.”
“LGBT in Three” will launch its first episode on Friday, July 10, and can been seen on the Boston Spirit magazine’s Facebook page or via the Boston Spirit magazine’s website.
