New Hampshire State Senate candidate Rebecca Perkins Kwoka has become the first to receive endorsements from national organizations in her district, which encompasses Durham, Lee, Madbury, Newfields, Newington, Newmarket and Portsmouth.
The endorsements came from the national political action committees LPAC and EMILY’s List.
If elected, the former Portsmouth City Councilor would become the first openly LGBTQ woman in the New Hampshire senate.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to receive these endorsements,” Perkins Kwoka said in a press release. “The work these organizations do to build the political power of women and LGBTQ people knows no bounds, and I am so excited to be a part of the amazing networks these organizations have built.”
“I want to work for Granite Staters to defend reproductive rights, eliminate discrimination in healthcare and employment, and craft more compassionate policy for working families,” she said. “We have so much still to do to ensure full equity and inclusion in our state.”
Said EMILY’s List Vice President Geri Prado, “Rebecca’s diverse experiences as a small business development volunteer, a legislative coordinator at the statewide level, a grassroots coordinator at the federal level, a nonprofit advocate, and a workforce housing defender make her a phenomenal candidate to represent District 21 in the state Senate. EMILY’s List is thrilled to support Rebecca’s State Senate campaign so that she can continue her public service and advocacy in the legislature.”
