One of the favorite fund-raising fêtes of the summer, the GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) may be moving online this year due to COVID-19, but its festivities promise to be fun, and the cause is as important as ever. And this year’s event — which starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25 — is absolutely free. It features celebrity host Varla Jean Merman, and this year’s honoree will be Stonewall Uprising veteran Paul Glass for his extraordinary commitment to social justice. They’re also be celebrity performances and the event’s signature silent auction with its fabulous items up for bid, all proceeds going to support GLAD’s vital work. Reserve your spot on the event’s webpage (url below).
