This just in from the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth:
The Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth is offering a minimum of $10,000 in emergency grants to help individuals and organizations working to support LGBTQ youth during the COVID-19 pandemic.
INDIVIDUAL YOUTH (thru age 25): If you are being personally affected by COVID-19 (like losing work, housing, social support, health services, etc.) you can apply for a grant of up to $500 to share your story with us, so that we can advance change. This could include being interviewed by phone, writing a blog piece, sharing art or photos, or writing posts for Facebook or Twitter. Sharing stories about the experiences of trans/GNC youth and youth of color will be prioritized. You can also apply for up to $500 for a project, like providing LGBTQ youth in your community with needed resources or services.
ORGANIZATIONS: You can apply for any project you have in the works or wish to start that targets LGBTQ youth through age 25 for assistance (for example, virtual health and wellbeing services, supplies, rent assistance, etc). Organizational grants will range from $500 to $1,500. Projects that serve groups with increased health disparities, including transgender youth and LGBTQ youth of color, will be given special consideration.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis twice a week and will be open until funds run out. Any individual who resides in MA (including any who have temporarily had to relocate) or organization based in or providing services in MA can apply.
