The Boston Celtics are hosting their first-ever LGBTQA Pride Night on Wednesday, January 9, when Boston takes on the Indiana Pacers. The game starts at 7 p.m. at TD Banknorth Garden.
Two hundred seats have been blocked off for LGBTQA fans, and about half of them have already sold. That’s thanks in a big part to the Boston Gay Basketball League, which has been spreading the word through its membership. (The Celtics have also invited BGBL members to a shoot-a-round on the TD Garden floor!)
Plus, thanks to Boston Pride, which helped to organize the event (including the TBA singer of the National Anthem), Boston’s own Steve Harrington—multiple Gay Games medalist featured in the November/December 2018 issue of Boston Spirit magazine—will be honored as the “Hero Among Us.”
The event is a great way to meet, mix and cheer with BGBL players, friends and other LGBTQA sports fans—and find out more about all the great LGBTQA sports leagues, teams and other activities happening right here in our area.
