Starting with an old tradition—the Rainbow Flag raising ceremony over City Hall on Friday, June 1—to a spanking new one—the High Heel Dash for Charity around Faneuil Hall on Saturday—Boston 2018 Pride Week (June 1–10) begins this weekend.
This year’s theme is “Rainbow Resistance,” which harkens back to the roots Boston Pride, recapturing the spirit of political activism that brought together the first Pride marches almost 50 years ago.
The centerpiece of the fun-filled celebratory week is the 48th annual Boston Pride Parade starting at noon sharp (line-up beginning at 7:30 a.m.) at Copley Square, with the Festival beginning at 11 a.m. at City Hall Plaza.
But there is so very much more! Block parties, art, music, cruises, dances, youth events, women’s events, events for every stripe of the Rainbow Flag. For a full listings of events all week, check out Boston Pride’s website schedule.
