With its gorgeous view of Provincetown Harbor from the beautiful grounds of the Pilgrim Monument, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders’ (GLAD) annual summer bash is always a fabulous place to be. This year, the 36th annual event is slated for Saturday, July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m.
For tickets and details, check out GLAD’s 36th Annual Summer Party event webpage (glad.org).
Celebrity auctioneer Kate Clinton gavels the auction—with tons of vacations, art, dining adventures, and much more on the block—and summer treats and signature cocktails and other drinks are always a’plenty.
Special honorees this year include Jeanne Leszczynski and Diane DiCarlo for their dedication and work on behalf of LGBTQ justice.
It’s pretty hard to overstate the importance and impact of GLAD. The work of this Boston legal advocacy organization reverberates around the country—and the world. Its successes in landmark cases have created new benchmarks for LGBT rights, including issues like equal marriage.
It was GLAD’s Mary Bonauto who argued the case that made Massachusetts the first state in the country to welcome same-sex marriage, and she later stood before the Supreme Court to make the groundbreaking national case there.
