Even a small boost in funding can make a big difference to community organizations, said Boston Pride Vice President Linda DeMarco in an October 26 press release announcing Boston Pride‘s new Community Fund, which will distribute grants of $500 to $2,000 to small nonprofits and other LGBT-supportive groups.
At its October 22 Fall Open House, DeMarco and Boston Pride President Sylvain Bruni made the official announcement. “One of Boston Pride’s goals over the past few years has been to create program to provide financial support for small nonprofits and organizations in the LGBT community,” said Bruni. “We have raised funds through various Pride events and are dedicating those to the new Community Fund as a way to give back.”
