The Boston-based Fenway Institute is being honored with a 2015 GLMA Achievement Award at a gala hosted by the organization (formerly known as the Gay and Lebisn Medial Association) on September 26, 2015 at the Treasury Ballroom in Portland, Oregon to celebrate the exemplary work of a small group of individuals and organizations.
In a recent Fenway Focus web newsletter posting:
The Fenway Institute works to make life healthier for those who are traditionally underserved: LGBT people, women, those living with HIV/AIDS, and people from communities of color. It does this through research, training, education, and policy development, focusing on national and international health issues. The Fenway Institute’s mission is to ensure access to quality, culturally competent medical and mental health care for everyone.
“GLMA is proud to honor The Fenway Institute, which has been a longstanding leader in LGBT health and a frequent partner in efforts to improve the health and well-being of LGBT people. The Institute’s many accomplishments focusing on research, education and policy put it in the great company of all GLMA Achievement Award recipients, who have done so much to ensure LGBT people receive the healthcare they need and deserve,” said GLMA President Henry Ng, MD, MPH.
