MassEquality, the statewide grassroots advocacy organization, endorsed seven Bay State candidates in competitive races with strong records on LGBTQ+ issues.

“In this pivotal election year, electing LGBTQ+ champions at every level of state and local government is critical to the advancement of our cause and the protection of our rights” said Tanya Neslusan, executive director of MassEquality, in her endorsement announcement, which went on to say:

Make no mistake: the Trump-Pence administration has spent the last four years making everyday life meaningfully, materially harder for the LGBTQ+ community.

And all along, MassEquality has been fighting back.  Here in Massachusetts, we have led the charge not just to safeguard our rights against encroachment but also to push our movement forward, so that advocates in other states and nationally can turn to our state as a blueprint for progress.

In order to advance this work, we need to elect LGBTQ+ champions here at home.

Here’s the line-up:

Becca Rausch (incumbent) — Massachusetts State Senator representing the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex district.

Tram Nguyen (incumbent) — Massachusetts State Rep for the towns of Andover, Boxford, North Andover, and Tewksbury.

Natalie Higgins (incumbent) — Massachusetts State Rep for the 4th Worcester District.

Christina Eckert — running to be Massachusetts State Rep for the 2nd Essex District.

Christine Crean — running to be Massachusetts State Rep for the Worcester & Norfolk District.

Samuel Biagett — running to be Massachusetts State Rep for the 5th Worcester.

Meg Wheeler — running to be Massachusetts State Senator representing the Plymouth and Norfolk District.

“MassEquality has achieved many of its accomplishments in the Commonwealth thanks to elected members of our community and our allies. We are proud to once again endorse a slate of supremely qualified candidates to carry on this legacy of equality” said Rob Henry, President of the MassEquality PAC.
